Thrifty Thursday
I haven't posted many of my thrifty finds lately! It's been a busy summer! Here are a few of my faves.
$5 picture for my room. Goes perfect in there! (this is upside down. duh.)
Footstool before
After! I kind of love this pattern and the color!
This was my great grandparents and I've been wanting to paint it. This is the after and I love how it turned out. I figured if I hate it I can always paint over it. That's the beauty of paint. Cheap and easy to change. I think it makes the entry so much brighter.
Table before. I had to buy this! I LOVED the glass space on top and the cutouts in the drawers.
After. Now I have to move my dads workout bench from our extra bedroom. All this furniture with nowhere to go. Sad!

FaMiLy FuN!
Our summer started out with a fun trip to Yuba with the whole family! We were all together on Saturday. It was perfect weather! Little wind, lots of sunshine, perfect. I need to get more pictures from the rest of my family. I didn't take too many, but can't find some that I know I took! Like my parents first S'More. Can you imagine! Why did they wait so long???
I LOVE Jason's flowing hair in this picture!
For the 4th of July we went on a very mini staycation with the Eichelberger's to Heber. We started off with seeing Despiciable Me 2. Later we met up at Bridal Veil Falls. It was so hot I wanted to jump in! At first walking up the waterfall I was trying not to get my shoes wet. By the end I couldn't have cared less!
After our hike we checked into the Homestead Resort. It was beautiful! Last time I was there it was December so I hadn't ever seen it with the flowers and fountains flowing! It reminded me of the movie Dirty Dancing. Only without Patrick Swayze and well, all the dirty dancing. We had dinner at the Resort and did a little swimming and hot tubbing afterwards.
The next morning we got up early for our train ride on the Heber Creeper. It was cloudy and a little cold but it was a fantastic way to start off the holiday. It was a little emotional hearing the patriotic songs played and sung on the train. I am constantly in awe when I think about how lucky I am to have been born in this country. I wonder why I am so blessed while others have less and struggle just to survive!
This cute boy was the most excited! Porter asked every day when he was going to get to ride the train. Boys this age are so amazed by trains. I love his excitement!
We quickly packed and checked out of The Homestead and went to Park City for the lame parade. Parades are so different than they use to be! No candy! What?! It was full of advertising and it's always fun to people watch in these situations. Bill claims this was his first parade and wasn't too impressed. However, I believe it's something all kids need to see while they're little!
Don't they look impressed?!
That night we went to the West Jordan Park and watched fireworks. The kids were tired but absolutely loved them! Tristan especially. I think Stella was half asleep at that point. He said he kept playing it over and over in his mind. Definitely one of his favorite parts of the holiday festivities!
The next afternoon we headed down to Richfield to see Shaun, Mistee and kids. It was so relaxing and fun. We played lots and lots of games, the boys did some fishing as soon as we got there, and just hung out. It was great! Apparently Tristan talked the whole time they were fishing. Don't think they want to be stuck on a fishing boat with him again for hours at a time!
