Day 10

My favorite place to eat:

One of my very favorite places to eat is Johnny Carino's. Pretty much everything I've gotten there I love. I definitely have my favorite dishes though.

Another family favorite is The Old Spaghetti Factory. Bill grew up going there with his family. I do love their Mizzithra and butter pasta. Yummy! And it's one of the only places Stella will actually eat everything we order for her.

Day 9

Last thing I purchased:

I purchased several things a few hours ago, but I already put most of the stuff away and it's all essentials. This is one of the things I bought today. Detergent. Exciting huh?

Day 8

A song to match my mood:

I'm having a "fat day" today and this song seems appropriate. I was going to post the video as well, but that was NOT appropriate.
"Baby Got Back"

[Intro]
Oh, my, gosh. Becky, look at her butt.
It is so big. *scoff* She looks like,
one of those rap guys' girlfriends.
But, you know, who understands those rap guys? *scoff*
They only talk to her, because,
she looks like a total prostitute, 'kay?
I mean, her butt, is just so big.
I can't believe it's just so round, it's like,
out there, I mean - gross. Look!
She's just so ... black!

[Sir Mix-a-Lot]
I like big butts and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung, wanna pull out your tough
'Cause you notice that butt was stuffed
Deep in the jeans she's wearing
I'm hooked and I can't stop staring
Oh baby, I wanna get with you
And take your picture
My homeboys tried to warn me
But that butt you got makes me so horny
Ooh, Rump-o'-smooth-skin
You say you wanna get in my Benz?
Well, use me, use me
'Cause you ain't that average groupie
I've seen them dancin'
To hell with romancin'
She's sweat, wet,
Got it goin' like a turbo 'Vette
I'm tired of magazines
Sayin' flat butts are the thing
Take the average black man and ask him that
She gotta pack much back
So, fellas! (Yeah!) Fellas! (Yeah!)
Has your girlfriend got the butt? (Hell yeah!)
Tell 'em to shake it! (Shake it!) Shake it! (Shake it!)
Shake that healthy butt!
Baby got back!

(LA face with Oakland booty)
Baby got back!

[Sir Mix-a-Lot]
I like 'em round, and big
And when I'm throwin' a gig
I just can't help myself, I'm actin' like an animal
Now here's my scandal
I wanna get you home
And ugh, double-up, ugh, ugh
I ain't talkin' bout Playboy
'Cause silicone parts are made for toys
I want 'em real thick and juicy
So find that juicy double
Mix-a-Lot's in trouble
Beggin' for a piece of that bubble
So I'm lookin' at rock videos
Knock-kneeded bimbos walkin' like hoes
You can have them bimbos
I'll keep my women like Flo Jo
A word to the thick soul sisters, I wanna get with ya
I won't cuss or hit ya
But I gotta be straight when I say I wanna *fuck*
Till the break of dawn
Baby got it goin' on
A lot of simps won't like this song
'Cause them punks like to hit it and quit it
And I'd rather stay and play
'Cause I'm long, and I'm strong
And I'm down to get the friction on
So, ladies! {Yeah!} Ladies! {Yeah}
If you wanna roll in my Mercedes {Yeah!}
Then turn around! Stick it out!
Even white boys got to shout
Baby got back!

Baby got back!
Yeah, baby ... when it comes to females, Cosmo ain't got nothin'
to do with my selection. 36-24-36? Ha ha, only if she's 5'3".

[Sir Mix-a-Lot]
So your girlfriend rolls a Honda, playin' workout tapes by Fonda
But Fonda ain't got a motor in the back of her Honda
My anaconda don't want none
Unless you've got buns, hun
You can do side bends or sit-ups,
But please don't lose that butt
Some brothers wanna play that "hard" role
And tell you that the butt ain't gold
So they toss it and leave it
And I pull up quick to retrieve it
So Cosmo says you're fat
Well I ain't down with that!
'Cause your waist is small and your curves are kickin'
And I'm thinkin' bout stickin'
To the beanpole dames in the magazines:
You ain't it, Miss Thing!
Give me a sister, I can't resist her
Red beans and rice didn't miss her
Some knucklehead tried to dis
'Cause his girls are on my list
He had game but he chose to hit 'em
And I pull up quick to get wit 'em
So ladies, if the butt is round,
And you want a triple X throw down,
Dial 1-900-MIXALOT
And kick them nasty thoughts
Baby got back!

Day 7

My dream wedding:

Seems I'm already slacking off on my daily blog. Shame on me! I'm just going to get caught up today. So there will be 3 new posts from me! Lucky you.

How appropriate that my dream wedding would come on the day of Prince William and Kate what's her-face's wedding day. Many people woke up at 4 A.M. to watch it. I however, was sleeping peacefully in my bed!

My dream wedding. I don't know. Of course I'd get married in the temple. Maybe the San Diego temple this time - since I am dreaming and I can do/go anywhere! It looks like a castle so that could be fun! I'd have another ceremony in Italy. Somewhere like this sweet church.

My reception will be followed by somewhere overlooking the city. It would be a big party that would last most of the night. After which we would make our exit on a gondola. We would spend our honeymoon bumming around all of Italy. That would be my dream wedding!

Day 6

A photo of an animal I'd like to have as a pet:

I have always thought cheetah's are such beautiful, strong, fast animals. I would love to have one as a pet! And now after seeing African Cats I'd love to have a baby lion as well. I think the female's are beautiful creatures. It was a great movie to see how animals live, survive, and most of all love. They are very affectionate animals and it was interesting to see the lives of wild animals.

Day 5

A photo of my from 2 years ago:

So do I look as youthful as I did 2 years ago, or do I look like what 12 year old girls think women in their thirties look like? Old.

Day 4

A favorite photo of my best friend:

OK, so I don't know what a favorite photo of my best friend(s)nor do I want to look through all of my pictures just to find one. I am fortunate to have 4 best friends in my life. All of them are people who I feel genuinely care about me, love me, and even like me in spite/because of my shortcomings! They are people who have been by my side in many struggles and joys that have come my way. They are all different from one another and have their own strengths that I like and wish I had more of.

First (and this is in no particular order, because I could not decide any kind of order) is my hubby, Bill. He is my rock. He is very grounded and has great common sense. He is my love, my present, and my future. He is an amazing husband and father. He is the greatest builder of my self-esteem. We have been through a lot together over the past 12 years and he's never left my side. He puts up with my bad moods, criticism, and sarcasm. He for whatever reason seems to love me unconditionally! And to him I am forever grateful and lucky to spend my life with such a wonderful man.

Second. My mom. My mother has given me such a wonderful life. She has done the best she could to teach me to become a woman, wife & mother that is strong and understanding. As adults she has not only been my mother, but my friend. I have many wonderful memories of her and feel so lucky to have such an amazing person I can look up to and shape my life after. She is fun and has a great sense of humor. She takes things as they come with a grain of salt & I love that about her. I couldn't ask for a better mom!

Third. Emily. My sister. She has been my best friend since I was 3! She has been my playmate, my roommate, my neighbor (practically),co-worker, and one of my greatest supporters. She is beautiful and strong. We have so much in common and I laugh my hardest when I'm with her. We know what the other is about to say before they even say it. That happens way too often it's kind of freaky! I see her at least 4 days a week still and love the time we spend - even if it is running stairs and trying to talk over really loud music and an equally loud instructor! I am glad to have a relationship with my sister that many people don't seem to enjoy! We are best friends.

Last, but certainly not least! Melissa. This lovely lady I have known for 4 short years, but feels like a life time! And I mean that in a good way. I have never known anyone who instantly just "got me". We immediatly became close friends and it's strange if we go even a day without talking. We can talk for hours about the same things! We laugh a lot too. I love that I can be myself around her and don't have to worry about any kind of judgement or cynicism. We practically have raised our children together and it's been so fun to see our kids grow up as best friends. I know we will be life-long friends and I am so grateful to her for her thoughtfulness and generosity!

Sorry to make this so long, but I just can't decide on a best friend. Now you know why! All 4 of these people are amazing and I love them so much! They bring me so much joy.

Day 3

My idea of a perfect first date:

This is a really strange one for me since I haven't been on a first date in 12 1/2 years! And our first date was a monster truck show. Can't say that is what girls dream of doing on a first date. However, it was a lot of fun! I am not too fussy. Give me some good food and a movie and I'm pretty happy! I think it's also fun to drive up to the mountains, have a picnic, and go for a small hike. Nothing too strenuous. No need to sweat on a first date! May not lead to a second. What's your idea of a perfect first date?

Day 2

A photo of something I ate today:

My sore throat is worse today than it was yesterday and I have been living off of these all week. I don't know how much they help, but I like to think they do!

Chicken soup for the soul. Doesn't everyone like chicken noodle soup when they don't feel good? I don't know why, but it's a good comfort food. I like these because they are thinner than ramen, and not mushy like Campbell's. Mmmmm. Noodle soup.

Last, but not least (calories or food-wise)an ice cream sundae. Somebody had to finish off the ice cream from YW the other night! I'll step up. And yes, I am eating this as I am reading a new exercise magazine. I know it's wrong, but it feels so right! More comfort food not to mention a side of fruit and cold on the throat. I'm feeling better already!

Day 1
Today I post a photo of myself and how my day was. This is a photo taken about a month ago at Girls Night Out. Stella was actually able to join us for this one! I love when she can come. My day has been OK. I had a sore throat yesterday which is feeling better today. However, I am feeling really achy (?) now and just want to sleep. Stella is on Spring Break so we got to sleep in a little longer, which is always good! Tristan insisted on wearing his Spiderman costume all day - so that got some laughs on our outings today. Overall, pretty relaxed, but hoping to feel better tomorrow!

I realize this whole blogging thing is going to be during our trip to California so we'll see how good I really am at keeping up with this challenge. I thought it would be fun to try though!

Isn't she the cutest? I know!

Les Miserables

Obsess Much!

Seriously! I.Am.Obsessed! I have always had a deep, undying love for Les Miserables. Well, maybe that's a tad dramatic. But I have loved the music and story since my friend Cris introduced me to it at the age of 14 or so. I saw it a few weeks ago on PBS for their 25th Anniversary. I wanted to go see them when they come to Salt Lake, but the tickets were ridiculously priced not to mention almost sold out. I have seen Les Mis twice already, but it's been probably almost 10 years. I guess it's fine I don't see it since I've had dreams about it twice now. I really need to stop watching/listening to it before I go to bed! At least my dreams have beautiful music!

After watching it on T.V. my mom and I decided for my birthday we'd celebrate early and go to the Utah Symphony. They were playing Mozart. I love Mozart, however, I only recognized one song! Duh. The music was beautiful of course. It was fun to have a girl's night with my mom and go to my first symphony.

Soccer & Smiths

A few weeks ago Tristan completed his first season of soccer. Probably not a moment too soon too. He started out excited and wanting to get the ball so he could score. By the end of the season he was asking if it was over yet. It was a lot of fun to watch him play with the neighbor boys. I loved their strategy of kicking the ball into a corner then try to get it out and then make their way to the goal. He was pretty proud of the sweet soccer medal he received. My favorite part was cheering him on and seeing pride beaming from his face when he'd get a goal. Each parent would cheer as if their kids were rock stars any time one of them would get a goal or even get close. Too fun.

This month he also had a field trip to Smiths Marketplace with Ms. Shannon's class. Tristan was completely mesmerized by everything! We go to go into just about every section of the store. He got to see the forklift (which was his favorite-of course), the bakery, see where the garbage is compressed, even the security cameras. Before we left they each got to decorate a cookie in fun, bright colors and plant sunflower seeds to take back to their class. The kids loved it and Tristan had about 5 questions for every post we went to. He is such a curious kid and I love to watch him trying to figure out what's going on inside his little brain! It has been a busy couple of weeks and now we get to look forward to another season of t-ball just around the corner. Ah, the good life!
