Warning: Proud mama moment! Tristan received the Principal Pride award this past week. Whaaaat? It reads, "Tristan comes into class with a smile on his face and a great attitude. He is a great example in our class." He said he brings it to class and wipes it off when he gets home. Goofball. It's ironic that I worried about him being the obnoxious, showoff kid that gets in trouble for talking too much and being too loud. Apparently he saves that for home. His teachers haven't had problems with him in elementary so far so that makes me so happy! I hope he continues to work hard and be his happy, funny self that is so lovable.

Mommy/Daughter Time
Hunting season is upon us yet again. While I have never been pro-hunting I am pro mommy/daughter time. Once school starts I feel like I turn into Miss No. No you can't play. No we can't go to the park. No. No. No. I hate it! There never seems to be enough time once they get home to have much fun. Between chores (which take them forever by their choice - not mine), homework, dinner and bath time it's bedtime! I miss summer for this reason. I'm more fun! I wanted my weekend alone with Stella to be the same. I wanted her to decide what to do and do as much as we could.
Stella's favorite restaurant is Tepanyaki but it's so dang expensive! Since it's just the two of us and she only eats the noodles I figured, why not? We invited Becky who is also a hunting widow, and Krissy to join us. I love watching Stella eat when she really enjoys her food! It doesn't happen very often. Afterwards we rented an American Girl movie and had fun watching it while pigging out to ice cream.
Saturday we went to Azi's baptism and had lunch afterwards at her house. Later we thought it would be fun t to go to an art museum. We walked around temple square, visited the Joseph Smith memorial building, checked out the church museum and went to the SL library for the first time. It's huge! I don't know how anybody could find anything there!
While in the JS Memorial Building Stella was dancing around the mezzanine saying she felt like it was a dream and wanting to hire the pianist so she can dance to it all the time. I love her innocence and enthusiasm! She was so happy with everything we did and let me know how much she enjoyed it. She even left the cutest little note on the side of my bed that I swore I wouldn't look at until she was fast asleep. Knowing how much she appreciates what we do for her and that she still enjoys spending time with me is everything! Being her mom is truly a dream. She is the girl I always wanted. She is so sweet and thoughtful and tenderhearted. I feel very blessed!
